Stanley Kubrick was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, and photographer.

He is habitually cited as one of the foremost powerful filmmakers in cinematic history. His movies, which are for the most part adaptations of books or short stories, cover a wide range of genres and are famous for their authenticity, dark humor, special cinematography, broad set designs, and reminiscent use of music.

After he has worked as a photographer for Look magazine in the late 1940s and early 1950s, he produced his first major Hollywood film, The Killing, for United Artists in 1956.
